Virtual Camps and Classes

With so much time at home now, many families are looking for ways to educate, entertain and support their kids. Virtual classes and camps are here to help!

Online programs can give kids a chance to explore a new interest or hobby while parents take a break. They offer an opportunity for routine and structure. And just like with in-person classes, there are academic and social benefits, too. Check out some local camps and classes offering virtual programs for kids.

Blackbird School

Homegrown in Portland, Oregon and available nationally, Blackbird School is the app for learning how to code online for everyone ages 11 and up. Live learning sessions, positivity-filled messages after each task, bite-sized manageable lessons, read-able instructions, Blackbird School is the answer for parents wanting to see their child dive deep enough into code that they become literate. Block-based code learning apps are wonderful for teaching the thinking process involved in writing programs, but don’t give access to an actual text-based programming language. Enter, Blackbird School, the bridge between “how?” and “ready.”
