Southwest

Dig PDX
From the team that brought beloved LEKA Playland, comes Dig PDX, Oregon’s largest indoor sandbox! You’ll find dinos and construction vehicles in this indoor venue full of 100% natural, non-toxic sand. They sell drinks, snacks, merch, and alchoholic beverages.

Happy Baby Play studio in Beaverton is not just for babies! They offer yoga classes (including parent + child) for all ages, and their open play sessions welcome kids of all ages (though ages 8 and under will enjoy it the most). There’s a cozy cuddles corner for infants and toddlers, pretend play opportunities in a Montessori style, a sensory play space (sand, for example), and a gross motor jumping zone.

With natural toys in the style of Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia philosophies, LEKA Playland is a beautiful space to relax while your children play. They host lots of special events (they sell out quickly so reserve early), and have both indoor and outdoor play areas, with ice cream on hot days. Enjoy the coffee station and fast free wi-fi. There is a private infant playroom for tots up to 18 months.

Outdoors In is a fun place to hang out that’s active and out of the weather. Bring the outside in for a fantastic fun time! Look for their sensory sensitive play hours, and staff led activities on their website.

Indoor Playground, Mittleman Jewish Community Center Sportsplex
Play in a climate-controlled Sportsplex! Indoor playground offers babies, toddlers and preschoolers a wonderful indoor play opportunity and a chance for adults to meet and mingle. The playground is open Fridays, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., as of this writing.

They offer free trade memberships to anyone who volunteers 2 hours or more per month, and reduced cost memberships for families in need. The Vancouver location of Sky Zone has been a popular birthday spot, so Southeast Portland residents can rejoice that the popular chain just opened a new gym in Gresham. Slightly smaller than the Vancouver location, it packs in plenty of fun activities including bouncy basketball courts, a dodgeball venue, a gated toddler zone, freestyle jump area, and king of the hill battle area. The zip line, free jump, and obstacle course are staff kid favorites. Pro tip: Order concessions before you get hungry, as the wait can be long. Jump socks required and available for purchase.
