Summer camps are happening! Be confident in your children’s health and well-being at these responsibly open or virtual camps. This list contains some of the best that Portland has to offer families for safe summer fun.

Mad Science of Portland and Vancouver

Green glowing liquids, strange objects flying through the air, messages written in secret code, autonomous robots, mystery substances, and curious creatures. Is this another planet? No, it’s Mad Science! Offering 1/2 and full day camps throughout the summer in a variety of locations! They comply with all health regulations and guidance from local/state authorities. Limited to 10 children per room, temperature checks and contact information required. PPE available. All rooms and equipment thoroughly cleaned before and after each class. Dates: many throughout the summer, starting June 1

Jordan Kent’s Just Kids Skill Camps

Jordan Kent’s Just Kids Skill Camps are exciting and engaging youth multi sport camps created by University of Oregon Hall of Famer Jordan Kent! Campers will choose between Basketball, Football, or Soccer, and will also receive agility training, daily life skills, nutrition education, and the chance to participate in a variety of fun and exciting games and contests! Campers are sure to leave camp happy and tired! Jordan Kent’s Just Kids Skill Camps will be up to date with the latest government health standards, and families can apply for various types of financial aid on their website.

Online Harry Potter Acting Camp

School is in at the MPA school of witchcraft and wizardry. Campers will get sorted and explore the magical world of acting inspired by J.K. Rowling’s hit book series “Harry Potter”. Camp includes large group acting lessons, daily task challenges, crafts and break out sessions among houses to create scenes for a virtual performance recorded during camp and streamed live over the weekend. Dates & Ages: June 29-July 3 (Ages 9-14); August 3-7 (Ages 12-16 — Magical Creatures theme); August 10-14 (Ages 7-12 — Magical Creatures theme)

MJCC Summer Day Camp

MJCC Summer Day Camp is excited to offer a modified camp program for children from Kindergarten through sixth grade. Programs are age-appropriate, fun and safe. Campers will spend their days using their imaginations, creating art, exploring science, and spending time outdoors with appropriately distanced sports and games. Their CIT campers (Grades 7-10) will learn leadership, communication, and behavior management skills. MJCC Day Camp is all about friendships, community, connection, and fun. They are working hard to ensure the best experience possible, and prioritizing the health and safety of everyone. They look forward to giving campers a unique, fun-filled experience. Dates: June 22–August 7

OSA Summer Art Camp

Learn with OSA artists for their first annual Summer Camp for junior artists. Oregon Society of Artists, OSA, is offering art instruction in watercolor painting and collage or crown/cask Making and “Michelangelo Meets Marvel” sketching. Students will focus on learning a variety of techniques in these mediums. Choose a half day class or come all day to learn all four. At the end of the week, there will be a show of the week’s creations. Class size is limited to 10 for social distancing. Facemask and supplies included. OSA has been offering art classes, workshops, and exhibit space since 1926. Dates: July 20-24 and July 27-31

Summer Filmmaking Camp

Cherry Street Films’ Camps are project based, flexible, & most importantly, fun! They are a local youth arts organization dedicated to supporting young content creators. Students enrolled in their programs collaborate to produce a short film, animation or YouTube vlog for their digital portfolio! Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. Kids Camp

Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. Kids Camp is happening July 20-24, July 27-31, and August 3-7 at Northwest Academy in downtown Portland! Dance ???? Visual Arts ???? Music ???? Theatre ???? One incredible immersive arts camp! Only a few spots remain for campers to join this summer. Following Oregon Health Authority Guidelines, campers ages 7-12 will perform, create, collaborate, and shine. Kids ages 13-17 can join in the fun and earn valuable volunteer experience as Interns.

NCPRD Summer Camps

NCPRD is offering a wide variety of day camps this summer to keep kids active, learning and having fun. Many of their camp favorites are back, including Hoopers Basketball, Outdoor Explorers, Dance Around the World and Cheer Starz – just to name a few. Plus, they’re adding a new Mad Science Rocket Camp this year to excite young minds! Summer camps begin as early as July 13. Early morning childcare and full day camp options are also available.
